Eastern Cape 23 June 2026 – The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) would like to advise road users of the temporary intermittent road closures scheduled to take on the N2 between Kareedouw R162 and Kareedouw Eerste Rivier R402 offramps, in the Eastern Cape on Friday, 26th June from 9h00 until 9h30 and again on the same day from 13h00 to 17h00. The coordinates where the line is crossing the N2 is -34.00278 24.265322.
This road closure will take place to allow Eskom to remove a power line.
The following alternate routes can be used:
- When travelling from Cape Town, you can offramp at the R402 Kareedouw / R102 EersteRivier and then take the old R102 road towards Humansdorp.
- When travelling from Humansdorp towards Tsitsikamma you can offramp at the Palmietvlei/ R102 Clarkson and use the old R102 road towards Tsitsikamma.
Local Traffic Officials will be on-site to manage traffic flow and to minimise delays.
‘Motorists are advised to plan their trips accordingly, adhere to speed limits and to proceed with caution,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Eastern Cape Provincial Head.
