“The road closure will affect traffic on both the northbound and southbound carriageways of the N3. Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) and KZN traffic officials will be deployed to manage and monitor the diversion of traffic and to ensure minimal disruptions,” said Nqobile Mabaso, SANRAL’s Eastern Region Statutory Control Administrator.

The details of the partial road closure date and times are:

  1. Tuesday, 23 April 2024: Zandspruit Padstal Entrance from 08h00 to 16h00

Contingency/Alternative date:

  1. Wednesday, 24 April 2024: Zandspruit Padstal Entrance from 08h00 to 16h00

The road closure is required to allow Eskom to perform essential work to replace the overhead transmission line structure and conductor which supplies electricity in the area.

“Traffic traveling on both directions will be temporarily halted for a period of not more than 30 minutes at a time. Motorists travelling along the N3 are urged to plan and adjust their trips accordingly, proceed with caution and adhere to sign posted speed limits. The patience and cooperation of motorists will be appreciated,” said Mabaso.

Road users are advised to obtain real-time traffic information and route status updates during the above partial road closure date. SANRAL apologises to the motoring public for any inconvenience caused and thanks them for their patience during the road closure.
