Gantry overhead signs to be replaced on the N1 Section 21 from Atterbury Southbound at Km29.4 to John Vorster Km15.0 Southbound

Gauteng, 23 June 2025 –The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) would like to notify travellers of the replacement of Overhead signs on the N1 section 21. This requires the shifting of traffic on the Southbound carriageway (From Atterbury towards John Vorster Southbound) whereby some lanes would be closed. The traffic shift is currently planned to occur from 9am to 3pm

Closures will be on the following dates:

23 June 2025 – 09:00 – 15:00 – Partial closure
24 June 2025 – 09:00 – 15:00 – Partial closure
26 June 2025 – 09:00 – 15:00 – Partial closure
30 June 2025 – 09:00 – 15:00 – Partial closure
25 June 2025 – 09:00 – 15:00 – Full closure – Traffic will be directed to Rigel Avenue
1 July 2025 – 09:00 – 15:00 – Full closure – Atterbury offramp to be used as alternative

SANRAL urges road users to:

  • Plan their trips accordingly.
  • adhere to the traffic accommodation signage and the flag persons advanced warnings.
  • Exercise patience and caution while navigating the affected area.
