Transport Minister Barabara Creecy to officially open Ndabakazi N2 Intermodal Interchange Project
Eastern Cape, 31 October 2025 – Transport Minister Barbara Creecy will officially open the Ndabakazi N2 Intermodal Interchange project on Saturday, 1 November 2025, in Butterworth, Eastern Cape Province.
Minister Creecy’s visit forms part of the Department of Transport’s October Transport Month Programme and demonstrates continued commitment to fast-tracking the delivery of critical road infrastructure, which is essential to unlocking economic growth and the potential of the country.
The Ndabakazi N2 Intermodal Interchange project started in February 2023 and was completed in August this year. The project is expected to significantly ease traffic flow, reduce road accidents, and has also created employment opportunities for local communities.
Through this project, 240 jobs were created, empowering community members with valuable construction-related skills relevant to both the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure.
