FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF NATIONAL ROUTE R63 SECTIONS 15 AND 16 FROM BHISHO (KM 5.8) TO THE N6 BRIDGE INTERSECTION (KM 1.0)
Blasting Works on the R63 between Bhisho and Kei Road

Eastern Cape, 4 November October 2025: The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) would like to notify road users that blasting will take place on the R63 Section 5 (Km 16) between Bhisho and Kei Road on the 7th of November 2025 between 15h00 and 16h00.

The road will be closed for approximately one hour to allow sufficient time for the blasting and cleaning-up operations and to ensure the safety of road users.

“Unfortunately, there are no suitable alternative routes in this section. Any alternative routes would take a longer travelling period than the waiting period at the closure. Motorists are requested to plan their trips accordingly and to use caution when making use of the roads,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Eastern Cape Provincial Head.
