CONTRACT SANRAL X.002-069-2018/1: Road Diversion on the N12, Stilfontein, North West Province

North West, 4 May 2026 – The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) wishes to inform road users of a temporary road diversion of the N12 national road Section 16 km 8.4 to km 9.4 at Stilfontein due to a sinkhole that formed on the westbound carriageway. The road diversion is necessary for the safety of road users.

Closure details are as follows:

• Location: N12 Section 16 Westbound km 8.4 to km 9.4
• Diversion Length: The diversion length of the N12 Westbound (towards Klerksdorp) is approximately 1 km but may increase if required for safety reasons. The Eastbound carriageway will temporarily operate as a single carriageway accommodating two-way traffic, with one lane allocated per direction.
