1 September 2026, Pretoria – The South National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) has been made aware of a phishing scam that involves some its tender – those that are open and those have that have been closed – are referenced by a scammer inviting specific companies to contact them.

In this case, there are fraudulent email scams that are being circulated to contractors and consulting engineers using one of SANRAL’s executive’s fake email address requesting contractors and consulting engineers to contact him directly on his mobile number.

“The supposed email requests contractors and consultants to contact the executive on a 060 506 8092 number regarding various contracts that are currently at tender stage. SANRAL wishes to put it on record that the supposed email does not emanate from any SANRAL’s staff or their email addresses, and the mobile number used also does not belong to any employee of SANRAL.”

“We apologise for the inconvenience that this may have caused, and we assure members of the public that we are investigating this matter,” said SANRAL Spokesperson Vusi Mona.
