Eastern Cape, 2 October 2026: The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) wishes to advise all road users and surrounding communities that a half marathon will be taking place in and around Komani on Saturday, the 3rd of October 2026. The runners will be using the following national routes:

• The R61, Section 3, from Komani towards Tarkastad up to the Whittlesea turnoff (Approximately 8.4km) (06:00 AM to 10:00 AM)
• The R67, Section 5, from Komani towards Whittlesea up to the Kammastone turnoff (Approximately 8.3km) (06:00 AM to 10:00 AM)

The road reserve will be used, and it will be clearly demarcated.

Law enforcement and traffic officials will be on-site to direct the traffic and road users.

“Motorists are asked to plan their trips accordingly and to exercise caution when using the road,” said Kayakazi Mafuta, SANRAL Eastern Cape’s Provincial Head.

SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused.
